PUBLIC BETA · UPDATED NOVEMBER 3, 2026
Privacy, in plain language.
Application Desk Beta stores application records in the browser you use. It has no shared application database, cloud profile, advertising, or Gmail connection. This notice covers this beta site and its separate developer-preview extension.
Records you enter
Company names, job titles, dates, posting URLs, outcomes, notes, pasted evidence, optional profile details, and activity history are stored in your browser’s local storage. They persist until deleted or browser data is cleared. They are not encrypted by Application Desk; someone with access to your browser profile or device may be able to read them. We do not upload your application board to our server.
Resume files
PDF, Word .docx, and text resumes are read locally. Extracted text remains in page memory until you clear it, reload, or close the page. It is not saved with the board or sent to Dice, an AI provider, or our server. Scanned PDFs may need pasted text. The PDF reader is bundled PDF.js software.
Job searches and hosting
Your chosen job title and filters are sent over HTTPS to this site’s job-search endpoint and forwarded to Dice’s official MCP service. Your resume and board are not included. Opening another portal’s search sends the title and location to that portal. Those services have their own privacy practices. Our hosting providers process ordinary request information such as IP address, route, timestamp, and security/access information. The application uses a short-lived in-memory request counter for search rate limiting. No analytics or advertising scripts have been added by this project; hosting-provider retention is governed by their policies.
Experimental Portal Sync
Collection is disabled until you agree in the extension popup. After enabling it, the extension reads visible job cards on application-history pages of Jobright, LinkedIn, Indeed, Dice, Monster, ZipRecruiter, and USAJOBS. Fields include company, title, posting URL, applied date when shown, displayed status, source portal route, and scan timestamp. They are queued locally in extension storage and passed only to an Application Desk Beta tab at applicationdesk.app or its original application-desk-beta.chatterjeeswarnava.chatgpt.site address in the same browser profile. They are not sent to our server. The extension does not read passwords, authentication cookies, email, or resumes, and does not call hidden portal APIs.
Diagnostics include supported route parameters, element tag/class structure, and counts, not job text or credentials. Copying or emailing a diagnostic report is your choice. Adapters are experimental; inferred details and changed outcomes require review. Turning collection off stops future scans; uninstalling removes extension-local data.
Export and deletion
Use Export in the board to download your own JSON backup or CSV. Use About your data → Delete this browser’s beta records to remove the board, optional profile, local review queue, and history. Pause or uninstall the extension first to avoid re-importing collected records. To remove its queued data and settings too, uninstall the extension. Delete downloaded backups separately. We cannot restore browser-local records or delete copies you retain elsewhere.
Support and changes
If you email support, your message and any attachments you choose to send will be handled in the support Gmail account to respond to your request. Avoid sending resumes, credentials, or a full application history unless necessary. You may request deletion of support correspondence. Contact applicationdesk.support@gmail.com. This beta may change; material data-handling changes will be reflected here.
